Kyra Senese, Managing Editor

Kyra Senese has joined Railway Track & Structures as managing editor, reporting to Mischa Wanek-Libman, RT&S editor.

An Illinois native, Kyra is a May 2016 alumna of Columbia College Chicago, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a magazine writing concentration. She initially joined RT&S as assistant editor in August 2016. Kyra previously worked as a research assistant with Advertising Age. Her journalism career began at Columbia’s student-run newspaper, The Columbia Chronicle, where she worked her way up to become editor-in-chief.

USDOT advances Florida, Texas rail projects

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)'s Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) made strides toward accelerating environmental reviews and project delivery timelines for rail projects in Florida and Texas late last week.

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Board of Directors has adopted the 2018 operating budgets for the RTA, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Metra and Pace, totaling $3 billion.
