Kyra Senese, Managing Editor

Kyra Senese has joined Railway Track & Structures as managing editor, reporting to Mischa Wanek-Libman, RT&S editor.

An Illinois native, Kyra is a May 2016 alumna of Columbia College Chicago, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a magazine writing concentration. She initially joined RT&S as assistant editor in August 2016. Kyra previously worked as a research assistant with Advertising Age. Her journalism career began at Columbia’s student-run newspaper, The Columbia Chronicle, where she worked her way up to become editor-in-chief.

SANDAG completes $28M in OTC improvements

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) and the North County Transit District (NCTD) have expanded the Oceanside Transit Center (OTC) to increase train capacity.

On Nov. 17, Rep. Ron Estes (R-KS-4) joined representatives from Budde Enterprises Inc. and the Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad for a tour at Budde's Newton, Kan., facility.

MBTA selects Green Line extension contractor

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Green Line Extension project team held a "price opening" to choose the design-build team to carry out the Green Line Extension's design and construction work.

 

The new Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) subway extension from Downsview Park Station in Toronto to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre in York Region is set to make its debut on Dec. 17.

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx have issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for design, build and finance work on the Milton Corridor project.

 

The Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority has released a report explaining the economic benefits expected to come to the region from the upcoming construction and operation of the 12.3-mile Foothill Gold Line light-rail extension.

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) Board of Directors has approved a contract for early train operator services to DB Engineering & Consulting USA.

Metro-North wraps up Port Jervis trackwork

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Metro-North Railroad has announced the completion of improvements along the Port Jervis Line between Port Jervis and Harriman, which began on Sept. 11.
