Mischa is originally from Grand Island, Neb., and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, with a major in magazine journalism and minor in business management. She began her career in journalism and railroading at Railway Track & Structures in 2001 when she joined as assistant editor, before being named managing editor in 2008 and editor in 2010.

Amtrak carries most passengers ever

Amtrak carried more than 31.2 million passengers in Fiscal Year 2012 ending September 30, marking the highest annual ridership total since America's Railroad® started operations in 1971 and the ninth ridership record during the past ten years.

Union Pacific acquires Oklahoma line

Union Pacific Railroad acquired complete ownership of a rail line in Oklahoma three decades after state officials saved what continues to be a link of commerce through the Sooner State.

Indiana University students and Bloomington commuters will notice increased trains speeds beginning Monday, Oct. 15 on the Indiana Rail Road Company (INRD) rail line that cuts through the IU campus and the balance of the city.

Southern California's Metrolink partnered with the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SanBAG) in its groundbreaking event for the Eastern Maintenance Facility (EMF) Expansion project on Thursday, Oct. 4. SanBAG is the lead agency and funding source for the $13 million project.
